Earlier this summer, FTC Commissioner Julie Brill introduced her “Reclaim Your Name” initiative. Aimed toward the big data industry, the initiative urges data brokers to be more transparent and provide consumers with more control over their personal data. In a follow up, Commissioner Brill released an op-ed piece in the Washington Post earlier this month, which drew some pointed criticism from the Direct Marketing Association.
